Scones with Fig and Walnut Jam


2 cups of whole-wheat flour;

½ a cup of brown sugar;

1 tablespoon of baking powder;

½ teaspoon of salt;

zest of lemon;

1/3 cup of butter;

1 large egg;

2/3 cups of quark cheese;

½ a cup of dry figs;

½ a cup of walnuts;

Quark cheese to brush;

Cinnamon and powder sugar;

Fig and Walnut Jam;

Scones with Fig and Walnut Jam 3


1.Put the flour, baking powder, salt and lemon zest in a bowl.

2.Add the butter in chopped in cubes until the mixture gets crumbly.

3.Add the egg and the quark cheese and use the mixer in a slow speed.

4.When the mixture gets homogeneous, add the dry figs in pieces and the chopped walnuts.

5.Place some flour in your kitchen bench and use your hands to do a circle with the dough. Cut it into 8 triangles.

6.Brush them with quark cheese and put some cinnamon and sugar powder.

7.Take them to the oven at 200ºC during 20 minutes. Serve them while harm with a generous amount of Fig and Walnut Jam.
