Scones with Fig and Walnut Jam
►2 cups of whole-wheat flour;
►½ a cup of brown sugar;
►1 tablespoon of baking powder;
►½ teaspoon of salt;
►zest of lemon;
►1/3 cup of butter;
►1 large egg;
►2/3 cups of quark cheese;
►½ a cup of dry figs;
►½ a cup of walnuts;
►Quark cheese to brush;
►Cinnamon and powder sugar;
►Fig and Walnut Jam;
1.Put the flour, baking powder, salt and lemon zest in a bowl.
2.Add the butter in chopped in cubes until the mixture gets crumbly.
3.Add the egg and the quark cheese and use the mixer in a slow speed.
4.When the mixture gets homogeneous, add the dry figs in pieces and the chopped walnuts.
5.Place some flour in your kitchen bench and use your hands to do a circle with the dough. Cut it into 8 triangles.
6.Brush them with quark cheese and put some cinnamon and sugar powder.
7.Take them to the oven at 200ºC during 20 minutes. Serve them while harm with a generous amount of Fig and Walnut Jam.
